We will review our program goals and procedures as well as review our safety policy. This meeting will be mandatory for all youth mentors and Adult mentors new to our program. We will also be distributing background-check forms to our adult mentors. All of this will be paid for by the FMS program donations fund, so there is no cost to any of our mentors.
We are currently seeking volunteer "music mentors" to work with a small group of students on their instrument of expertise. Music Mentors do not need to be professional musicians: anyone who has played an instrument, can read music and pass on their knowledge to students is encouraged to work with us. We especially encourage moms, high-school students and seniors to volunteer. Whoever you are, you can help!
Many mentors have improved their own skills by working with our students. Also, by becoming a music mentor, you will find other musicians at your level to practice with. Rekindle your love of music by working with us!
We offer flexible mentoring schedules. Our classes meet from 4-6 pm on Friday afternoons. Mentors are needed on a full or part-time basis. Donate one or two hours per week, or, one or two hours per month -- it's up to your schedule.
We are also able to offer Community Service credits for Middle and High School students for volunteering with our students. This is a great opportunity to give-back what you love: the gift of music!
To volunteer, please call Candace Love at (408) 226-6962, or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
